When you’re running late in the morning – and if we’re being honest, who isn’t – sometimes all you can grab is a thing of yogurt. Well here’s some excellent news! Yogurt is a mouth-friendly food! Find out why in this article, and feel free to give us a call for a visit if you have any inquiries.

Two of the most-used materials in yogurt are calcium and proteins. Calcium and protein can aid your teeth by reinforcing the enamel layers that are the teeth’s first defense. Additionally, yogurts contain useful probiotics. Probiotics, also known as beneficial bacteria, are helpful in the mouth because they may push out negative bacteria that harm the mouth. Yogurt has so many benefits for the mouth, and it’s yummy too!

While we generally approve of yogurt, we should mention that not all yogurts are made equally. Specifically, look out for yogurts with lots of sugar or added sugar; this might outweigh some of the helpful effects yogurt can have. If you do buy yogurt, think about getting a kind that comes with lower quantities of sugar, such as Greek yogurt.
